We hope you have had a good holiday week and were able to spend some time with friends and family. We’ve got some good reads for you to enjoy:

I. The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT)  announced that it is seeking 25 candidates for appointment to the new National Advisory Committee on Travel and Tourism Infrastructure (NACTTI), which was established on June 1, 2016 and is planning to begin work in Fall 2016.

II. A new international maritime rule  began on July 1st in Hampton Roads and around the globe. It will require the weight of every loaded shipping container put on a cargo vessel to be certified – based on actual weighing of each packed container.

III. Supply chain, logistics and distribution sectors may be among those seeing and experiencing some of the most dramatic shifts and severe implications as the result of Brexit.

IV. WSJ has some interesting and powerful new data to dive into: “In early 2015, we surveyed 160 logistics professionals about supply chain practices and we were struck by results that suggested that advances in technology have yielded little progress in helping companies see where their goods are moving in their supply chains.”

Have a great weekend.
