Last week Argon & Co UK held its annual volunteering day. The team spent the day across three charities, supporting the local communities, the elderly and London’s wildlife habitats:
Age UK
Age UK is a local charity providing essential support to those over the age of 50. They aim to improve the lives of older people, working towards a future in which older people are valued, safe and empowered to make choices about their lives.
Our team had the pleasure of spending the day supporting Age UK Lewisham and Southwark, in their daily activities including gardening, exercise classes, singing and dominos while getting to know Age UK’s members.
Brighten Up London
Brighten Up London helps to maintain London’s conservation area, supporting wildlife and habitats to provide a safe space for the local community.
We supported the Holland Park Ecology Centre which runs educational events and activities for schools and workshops by planting seeds and trees, laying paths, mending fences and general park maintenance.
Stepney City Farm
Stepney City Farm is a working farm in the heart of Tower Hamlets. They are an educational charity working to improve lives through farming; offering children and adults the opportunity to meet farm animals, learn how to grow food, and try out arts and crafts.
At the farm, our team spent the day gardening, maintaining the farm and barns, as well as tending to, – and taking photos of – the animals!
