Global supply chain debate 2015 Guest speaker – University of Warwick, UK
The first Global Supply Chain Debate hosted by WMG took place this week. It brought together professionals from a range of backgrounds and specialties to discuss and debate the global supply chain, and the important role the UK can play. The event began with a workshop facilitated by Matt York and Laura Magee from Crimson & Co addressing the importance of capabilities within the supply chain.
During the official launch we were introduced to the MyChainReaction
project. The project focuses on increasing public awareness and engagement of supply chains through examples they can relate to. Day two introduced influential key note speakers including Chuka Umunna (MP), Dr Richard Miller (Innovate UK), Mike Wright (JLR), Sir Michael Arthur (Boeing UK and Ireland), Dame Julie Moore (University Hospitals Birmingham), Janice Munday (Advanced Manufacturing and Services, BIS) and Gill Ringland (SAMI Consulting) with Emeritus Professor Martin Christopher as chair.The day consisted of presentations, debates and workshops concluding with a panel debate, discussing how to take the global initiative forward and what are the current barriers of the UK becoming the heart of the global supply chain.
