Crimson & Co UK held its Winter Client Alumni dinner at Brown’s Hotel, London on Thursday 9th November. This was our 18th dinner and provided an opportunity for our clients from the FMCG, drinks, logistics, energy and life science industries to catch-up over pre-dinner drinks and hear more about the operational restructuring of the family owned global brand – Sunseeker.
Our guest speaker for the evening was Timon Orlob, Head of Operational Excellence at Sunseeker, which is recognised by the rich and famous for its quality and craftmanship. Timon steered us through the operational restructuring and improvement approach to the business’s recent turnaround. We learned that, regardless of the industry, to drive and make change stick you need to address culture and processes. Key factors include having a clear customer promise (not being all things to all people), understanding the real cost of goods sold and cost to serve, understanding your selling point to customers and standardising or simplifying those features that aren’t so vital, and having the right KPIs in place. These lessons are taking Sunseeker on to smoother waters.
