- Real estate shortage? Last week we reported there was a bump upwards in companies leasing warehouses. This week another report, in WSJ, is backing up what we shared. Senior managing economist for CBRE, Tim Savage, says the market is balanced and that industrial developers are able to respond quickly to the demand in many markets because warehouses for eCommerce are easy to construct. - Help Wanted: Drivers. Inbound Logistics reported just yesterday that the American Trucking Associations (ATA), had expected a driver shortage of more than 50,000 at the end of 2017, but now it’s reported that the shortage could grow to 174,000 drivers by 2026. The reasons they listed are challenges are an aging workforce, mandates, time away from home, a strong economy, and the continuing rise of the economy.
