Tuesday morning (a very early 6:00 am in the U.S.) the North America office hosted a conference call available to everyone at Argon & Co globally to go over a great project we recently completed. It was a time-sensitive project the last half of the year. Our experienced supply chain consultants did an incredible assessment of the client’s situation and helped them get things in order for peak season. We loved sharing our success in North America with our global team.
We’ve been reading up on retail trends for 2018 for Recap fodder. Of course, we all know not all the trends will take place but it does give us a few things to watch that impact our clients and prospects.
- Forbes is reporting on the impact tech will have on retail this year… that there will be transformation relating to technology. While that is a safe bet anytime in the next several years, it’s fair to remember, as this article states, that retail is a people business. We can’t lose all humanity, even when discussions of AI and robotics are everywhere.
- Retail closing news for 2018. However there are reports on business shifting too, to eCommerce (this is not a new prediction), to merging and to finding ways to work in the industry in a more efficient manner, for which we’ve helped many clients.
- Trends that will “disrupt and define” 2018 retailing. They predict bankruptcies to lessen, store fronts changing, technology, personalization, and private label.
