You’re probably ready for some time off, but busy days are ahead for some of our clients as they move out of the holiday shopping period and into planning for next year (yes, we help some clients with assessing what happened during this peak season and how to improve next). - Not sure how we missed this, but CVS plans to deliver prescription drugs to customers in 2018. In November the company announced plans as they try to get a head start on Amazon as they consider going into the pharmacy business. Here’s an article a month before the CVS announcement that reports on Amazon entering the healthcare sector in many ways. And here are some other thoughts on the subject.
- Looking ahead to retail in 2018, Target reports that it will open 35 stores, especially smaller stores and they have also begun rolling out same-day delivery in select markets, planning to expand that service, of course. The report in The Street also reports about other retailers delivery efforts to help compete with Amazon.
- Looking ahead to food delivery. Report after report about millennials has been shared that they are the group that pushed convenience in living – including food delivery with healthy food delivery as an interest. Here, in Futurism Magazine they talk about not only the push for food delivery but how to we look at accessibility in food and healthy food underserved communities. As an early adopter of the delivery of groceries (yes, Webvan) years ago, I’m looking forward to seeing what other ways we can make life convenient.
