Supply Chain 24/7 reported, “A UPS spokeswoman told LM that UPS continues to actively build out capacity in Georgia to efficiently accommodate the rapidly expanding e-commerce shipping needs of its commercial and residential customers in this fast-growing area.”
Peak Season Postal Increase
Just in time for peak season for eCommerce, the United States Postal Service is proposing amounts to a 2.5% increase that would take effect in January 2019. USA Today noted that the plan comes when USPS was already having issues, as mail has been replaced with electronic communication. USA Today reported, “While the service has been handling more package delivery, the loss in mail delivery has been more dramatic – and mail is the service’s main source of revenue, Postmaster General and CEO Megan Brennan said earlier this year of the financial loss.”
