The AJC reported that the new DC will allow it to &#8220;continue to innovate its supply chain practices.&#8221; There are plans to have the center completed in the summer of 2020.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Walmart Announces High-Tech Consolidation Center<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.supplychaindigital.com\/warehousing\/walmart-unveils-its-high-tech-consolidation-centre-optimise-supply-chain-process\">world&#8217;s largest retailer announced a 340,000-square-foot center<\/a> in Colton, California. They will use automated technology to work to increased volume and always sought after faster delivery times.\u00a0It will open in mid-2019 and should employ 150 full-time employees before working toward expanding to 600 by 2021.
