They say Thanksgiving weekend retail sales were &#8220;record-breaking.&#8221; Those tracking and reporting on holiday sales between Thanksgiving and Cyber Monday say thanks to &#8220;consumer confidence, low unemployment, and a solid economy,&#8221; sales were up this season overall. The lure of free shipping, huge discounts and the promotion around those sales, helped.<br \/>\nTo quote <em>The Mercury News:<\/em> \u201cTop line: This was a very strong holiday weekend. And this was a very positive indicator of where we\u2019re headed over the next four weeks,\u201d said Bill Thorne of the National Retail Federation. More than 165 million Americans shopped in stores and online from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday, according to the National Retail Federation. In that time, the average shopper spent $313.29 on gifts and other holiday items. The biggest spenders were older millennials and Gen X shoppers who spent $413.05 on average.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Workforce information from TeamOne Logistics (video).<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Quick update on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teamonelogistics.com\/last-mile-mayhem-the-nov-logistics-workforce-update\/\">workforce for this peak season in a quick four minute video update<\/a>.
