We read with interest<a href=\"https:\/\/www.retaildive.com\/news\/10-amazon-myths-examined\/528950\/\"> this piece on some myths about Amazon<\/a>. If you&#8217;re interested in salaries, company environment or sales, you can find it in the article on <em>Retail Dive<\/em>. While we&#8217;re talking about retail, here are some July numbers for sales and <em>Supply Chain 24\/7<\/em> calls the numbers &#8220;solid.&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Parts shortage leading to bottlenecks for manufacturers<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wsj.com\/articles\/parts-shortages-crimp-u-s-factories-1533893408?ns=prod\/accounts-wsj\">Wall Street Journal reports (need paid subscription) that a multitude of suppliers<\/a> &#8211; everything from engines to electronic components &#8211; are not keeping pace with the manufacturing boom right now. It&#8217;s costing some companies more because they have production lines waiting while they are absorbing costs. WSJ reports, &#8220;However, deliveries from suppliers have slowed for 22 consecutive months through July, according to the latest survey of U.S. manufacturers by the Institute for Supply Management. More than one-quarter of respondents said it took longer for materials to arrive in July than in June. Machinery was the hardest-hit sector.
