Read on!<\/p>\n<p><strong>I.<\/strong> FourKites builds software to help shippers, logistics providers, and freight brokers keep track of trucks, cut down on wait times at loading docks and boost the efficiency of loads. The Chicago-based company has just announced that they have raised 13 million in a Series A funding round. Mathew Elenjickal, founder of the company, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chicagotribune.com\/bluesky\/originals\/ct-fourkites-series-a-funding-bsi-20161012-story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">says his company can help companies with data<\/a>. \u201cWe can collect all this data from all these different mediums of devices and build applications on top of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>II.<\/strong> <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/reverse-logistics-and-reverse-supply-chain-research-returns-recalls-repairs-and-end-of-life-returns-2016-10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Business Insider<\/a><\/em> is sharing an in-depth look at Reverse Logistics. The report examines the strategic reasons why retailers should implement a reverse logistics function and discusses the industries that are most at risk.<\/p>\n<p><strong>III.<\/strong> Ralph Neopolitan, a 10-year mechanic at UPS in Louisville, Kentucky, shares why the UPS union is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.logisticsmgmt.com\/article\/ups_aircraft_mechanics_and_company_at_odds_over_proposed_healthcare_costs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fighting for better healthcare<\/a>. \u201cEvery day I go to work to service the planes that are essential to UPS\u2019s success and to customers all over the world getting their important deliveries like textbooks, medicine and building supplies on time. Without operational aircraft, these important deliveries and holiday gifts won\u2019t be delivered on time. I take my job very seriously, but it takes a toll on my body.\u201d The union is unhappy that UPS is calling for a massive reduction in both active and retiree health benefits for 1,200 maintenance workers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>IV.<\/strong> The American Trucking Associations (ATA) projects freight volumes will increase by nearly 29 percent over the next 11 years. ATA Chief Economist Bob Costello is releasing more insight and data in the <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.truckingnewsonline.com\/news\/new-ata-report-predicts-growth-in-freight-trucking-through-2026\/7426\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">U.S. Freight Transportation Forecast to 2026<\/a><\/em>.
