Last week, we had the opportunity to attend Optilogic Inc.’s OptiCon conference in Detroit. Over three days, supply chain leaders, innovators, and practitioners came together to explore the future of intelligent design.

L-R Greg Colabello, Rob Achtzehn, Sophia Sassoli, Frank Tsang, Rich Cammisa and Chris Keller lined up behind a table with the Argon & Co logo on it

Key themes that stood out

  • AI + Simulation = Smarter Supply Chains

The message was clear: simulation isn’t just a nice-to-have—it’s essential. Tools like Cosmic Frog are enabling organizations to model, test, and optimize supply chain decisions with unprecedented speed and accuracy.

  • Resilience Through Design

From reshoring strategies to tariff optimization, the focus was on building supply chains that are not only efficient but also adaptable to global disruptions.

  • Democratizing Design

One of the most exciting trends? Making advanced modeling accessible to non-technical users. With Excel-based apps and intuitive interfaces, more teams can now participate in strategic design decisions.

Highlights from the stage

Booth display at Opticon for Argon & Co 2025 logo and taglines: See real change. Lasting results. Donald Hicks, Optilogic CEO, set the tone with a bold vision for the future of supply chain design.

Michael O’Sullivan offered a macroeconomic lens on global logistics trends.

Sarah Harper, professor and demographer, delivered a thought-provoking talk on how aging populations and demographic shifts will reshape supply chain strategies over the next decade.

Customer spotlights from GM, Kohler, Cencora, and Lineage showed how real-world companies are leveraging Optilogic Inc. to drive measurable impact.

Hands-on learning

The pre-conference workshops provided a valuable opportunity to refine and deepen our existing skills in network optimization, inventory simulation and transportation optimization. The sessions were well-structured, practical and engaging, offering new techniques and perspectives that we’re excited to bring back to our ongoing projects.

Final thoughts

OptiCon 2025 wasn’t just about technology – it was about rethinking how we design, adapt, and lead in a rapidly changing world. We’re leaving with new ideas, new tools, and a clearer direction for how to approach the challenges ahead.

Big thanks to the Optilogic Inc. team for hosting such a forward-thinking event and for the incredible support they provide year-round. It was especially great to meet in person the folks we regularly interact with behind the scenes. Already looking forward to what’s next!

At Argon & Co, we help organizations unlock the full potential of tools like Cosmic Frog, through strategic design, optimization, and implementation support. If you’re exploring how to elevate your network design, inventory strategy, and transportation optimization capabilities, let’s connect.
