As a company with branches across the world, we think it\u2019s important to learn from each other. Which is why we sent Senna, one of our consultants from the Netherlands, on a three-month adventure to Australia. While initially based in Sydney, she has since expanded her role to support a client with operations spanning multiple locations, including Melbourne as her new project base.<\/p>\n

Diving into Project Engagement<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Senna\u2019s Australian journey began in Sydney, travelling to the city on the other side of the world with her colleague Jonathan from the Utrecht office. Their mission? To support Argon & Co\u2019s Australian manufacturing department in the execution of several projects. While Jonathan focused on developing a manufacturing strategy for a different client, Senna took on a more operational role at a large manufacturing site. She is now working on analyzing machine reliability and optimizing equipment for better output, as well as spotting production bottlenecks and setting up structured operational processes. To be able to do this, her role requires active involvement on the factory floor.<\/p>\n

Embracing the Hands-On Approach in Australia<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Different from the consultancy projects back home, the focus shifts from strategy and analysis to hands-on, on-site work. Rather than remaining behind a screen, Senna collaborates closely with engineers and operators, ensuring real-time improvements and immediate impact. Being physically present in the factory allows for faster adjustments and deeper engagement with operational teams. Navigating the vast Australian landscape adds an interesting layer to the job since manufacturing sites are spread across various locations. Flexibility and adaptability are key.<\/p>\n

Experiencing Culture and Team Dynamics<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Beyond the professional experience and being able to dive into the vibrant local culture, Senna and Jonathan spending three months in Australia together has brought the Dutch and Australian teams closer together. Therefore, creating valuable opportunities to exchange knowledge and strengthen Argon & Co\u2019s global team spirit<\/p>\n

Despite being thousands of kilometers away from home, the Argon & Co spirit and team dynamics remain familiar. The monthly ANZ team meetings can offer a breath of fresh air, providing a chance to step back from project pressures, collaborate on chosen topics, and exchange insights. While being on the other side of the world, Senna has gotten the chance to not only share her own knowledge, but learn from the international Argon team. She has joined forces with a few colleagues to share insights the training program that both offices have set up for their consultants.<\/p>\n

Senna\u2019s experience in Australia highlights the value of international assignments \u2014 it\u2019s not only exciting and enriching for the travelling consultant, it also ensures a broader exchange of knowledge and ideas across Argon & Co\u2019s global network.
