Judging by the number of times we\u2019ve seen these displayed on <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">organisations\u2019 walls, it seems everyone is getting that particular memo. But then what? In our experience, whoever is responsible for implementing company culture seems to drop the ball at that point. Job done. They couldn\u2019t be more wrong!\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:256}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Circulating the list of values barely scratches the surface of what really needs to happen if you actually want them to stick. As you well know, people are not machines. Desired behaviours, especially if they are different to those currently being exhibited, need to be cultivated and nurtured. Like training a delicate climbing plant to grow the way you want.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;201341983&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:256}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Company culture is a living organism. You can\u2019t just plant the seed \u2013 by distributing a set of values and\/or conducting a one-off induction programme \u2013 and expect it to grow in a uniform manner, exactly as planned.
